This Capitol Hill Club wedding was so elegant and so full of joy! Dana and David’s love story was woven throughout DC: they met at a Marine One viewing at the White House, where they both worked at the time. It wasn’t until Dana tried to set David up with one of her friends, though, that he confessed his feelings for her and they started dating! Their courtship involved many long walks through the city, and they commemorated that in their DC engagement photos, which I was lucky enough to shoot for them.
With all of that history in this place, a Capitol Hill Club wedding was the perfect choice for them. After a beautiful ceremony at St. Aloysius Church, everyone made their way to the Club, just over a mile down the street. The distinguished, clean-but-classic design elements of this space made it an amazing setting for the kind of elegant aesthetic Dana and David crafted together.
Elegant simplicity was really the heartbeat of this wedding. Dana chose bouquets that were entirely made of white roses, and all the other floral arrangements followed suit with white blossoms. With all of the bridesmaids in black gowns and the groomsmen in classic black tuxes, the color palette was restrained, but striking! Hints of gold snuck in to complement the gold touches in the Capitol Hill Club, and the finished effect was effortlessly stylish.
