Elegant Pastels at this Jekyll Island Club Wedding
For their elegant Jekyll Island Club wedding, Emma and Chris wanted coastal colors that hinted at their seaside locale without going full ‘beach wedding’. Their flowers were a beautiful tangle of white peonies and plenty of delicate lisianthuses, with accents of blush pink, pale blue, and fresh green.
Emma echoed that color palette with her bridesmaids’ dresses. None of them was the traditional full-length bridesmaid look – instead, each one wore a unique and wearable dress in one of the colors of this Jekyll Island Club wedding. When they were all gathered together, they looked like a beautiful bouquet.
Making Lifelong Memories
One of my favorite moments from this Jekyll Island Club wedding was the first look moment Emma had – but not with Chris. She chose to put a twist on tradition, and instead of doing her first look with Chris, she went to see her father and three younger brothers. When her youngest brother saw her, his jaw literally dropped! It was such a sweet and funny moment – one of those precious family memories that was a true honor to capture.
For the reception, the family gathered in one of Jekyll Island Club Resort’s lovely ballrooms for such a fun evening. There were lots of little touches that put Emma and Chris’s playful personalities on this event – instead of a traditional cake, they had a cookie tower, and both of them changed into Nikes for their first dance and made full use of them for the dancing. I stole them away for some glorious golden hour shots on the stunning resort grounds, and before we knew it, this Jekyll Island Club wedding was coming to an end. What an amazing day!
