If it wasn’t already apparent, I have a special place in my heart for my fashion-forward couples. Lauren and Lee took their passion for all things fashion and integrated it into their intimate destination wedding weekend in Mexico, making it an event to remember. Planning an entire weekend with your friends and family is the perfect way to have an extended celebration! If you’re planning a destination wedding and would love to gather some inspiration, keep reading.
These two invited 17 of their closest friends and family to celebrate their destination wedding in Quintana Roo, Mexico. They hosted their big day at Chable Maroma, a stunning luxury boutique resort that you’ll love if you’re planning a wedding with a similar high-end, fashion-forward vibe. The resort, designed by renowned interior designer Paulina Moran, was especially fitting for Lauren and Lee’s wedding weekend due to the Mexican artisanal inspiration combined with the minimal, luxury architecture. Chable Maroma features the perfect blend of nature elements and modern amenities, creating the perfect setting for such a unique celebration! This couple spent countless time fine-tuning their wedding day details and didn’t neglect a single thing, sparing no expense for such an important day.
Because it was an intimate event with 17 guests, L & L wanted a venue that complemented the intimacy of their big day. The resort was quiet, private, and relaxing – perfectly suited for the destination wedding weekend experience they were planning. I love working with couples who are intentional and detail-oriented about their day and want a photographer with the same approach.
For example, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t internally obsessing over the Kim Kassas wedding gown Lauren wore (Kim Kassas is one of my favorite designers). It had all of the attributes I love in a gown – it was regal, non-traditional, and it made an absolute statement. Her gowns are truly like anything you’ve ever seen before, perfect for brides who want a show-stopping look. You can browse her evening gown collection for your other wedding-related events! Lauren’s gown looked absolutely stunning on her, but that wasn’t the only aspect of her wedding attire that stood out. She completed her look by intentionally choosing a veil and accessories to complement, resulting in a cohesive (and dare I say straight-up HOT) destination wedding look. I just couldn’t get enough of it!
Lauren and Lee did a fantastic job of creating a destination wedding weekend itinerary that was completely unique to them. They kicked off their celebration on Thursday by hosting a welcome party with all of their guests, encouraging everyone to wear vibrant colors while they stayed sleek and classy in all-white. Then, on Friday, they had their rehearsal dinner where the dress code was inverted! While all of their guests wore crisp white outfits, Lauren and Lee stood out in their stylish matching blue attire. Once their wedding day rolled around, it was stunning to see how all of their intentionality and attention to detail came together!
And if you think their wedding weekend was the one and only time these two showed off their chic and stylish vibe in front of the camera, their engagement session would prove otherwise! Check out their engagement photos at Estate River Run in Virginia here on the blog.
