Chic Willard Hotel Wedding in Washington, DC
This elegant Willard Hotel wedding was such an amazing example of the heights a DC celebration can really reach. Candice and John said that they “fell in love with the Willard because of the architecture and its potential to create an intimate space”, and they really took advantage of all this luscious venue had to offer. Chic, stunning, offering tradition with a unique twist – I loved being part of Candice and John’s wedding day!
When she was reflecting on her relationship with John, Candice said, “When I am pressed for an exact moment in time when I fell in love with him, I am lost for words. I just know that our love was born from a deep friendship and mutual determination to live life to the fullest, and now, to take care of each other until our last breath.” Wow. As you can tell, this Willard Hotel wedding was permeated with such a powerful sense of love.
Shifting Plans and Creative Solutions
We had planned to take their couples’ photos across the street from the Willard Hotel, in a pretty outdoor spot. But when the time came, it ended up raining.. So we had to think creatively to come up with an alternative, and we ended up shooting in a relatively dark staircase. Luckily, I was equipped with the perfect lighting to nail the shots – and I really love the way that they turned out in the end.
