A Moody Romance for some Vibrant Personalities

In the heart of New York City, A & J’s wedding was a lively and luxurious affair that perfectly encapsulated their vibrant personalities and love for each other. Held at the renowned Bowery Hotel in NYC, this wedding was a stunning and stylish mixture of elegance, excitement, and heartfelt moments. Keep reading to hear all about their story, along with everything that made their wedding an honor to document. 

The Couple: A + J

A & J’s journey started at Loyola University Maryland, where they spent four years in the same social circle before realizing they were meant to be a little more than just friends. Their connection evolved into a deep, understanding love, where A’s sociability and humor perfectly complemented J’s calm, empathetic nature – a match made in heaven!

While working with them, their laid-back and team-player attitudes created an atmosphere of mutual respect and confidence. As their photographer, their trust empowered me beyond belief, igniting my creative excitement and enabling me to deliver some of my best work. Their willingness to embrace my vision and ideas without hesitation allowed me to capture the essence of their day in a way that was both authentic and artistically fulfilling. When I say that I’d love for all my couples to bring this type of energy, I mean it! 

The Venue: The Bowery Hotel, NYC

I can’t continue talking about their wedding without highlighting their venue – The Bowery Hotel. Its rich textures, deep tones, and unique designs (a photographer’s dream come true) couldn’t have provided a more on-brand backdrop for their NYC wedding. The fact that A & J chose this venue just highlights their appreciation for aesthetics and the vibrant energy of New York City – something we have in common! The skyline view from The Bowery Hotel was nothing short of spectacular, making for some pretty epic photo opportunities.

The Ceremony

Moving onto their ceremony, they surrounded themselves with their supportive network of family and friends. The genuine love and joy from all their favorite people in the room were absolutely unmatched. Not only was the energy a 10/10, but the decor, a blend of classic elegance and contemporary style, perfectly mirrored the vibe A & J was aiming for. The abundance of white florals against the green backdrop of the space was EVERYTHING – Flowerful Events did an amazing job bringing their vision to life. 

 Every aspect of their day, from their first look to the exchange of rings, was 100% intentional, making the ceremony not just a formal (and aesthetically pleasing, might I add) event, but a deeply personal celebration of their journey together.

The Celebration

Post-ceremony, the event transitioned into a lively celebration (and an outfit change, of course)  with all of their favorite people! A & J wanted their wedding to be a stylish affair but with a strong focus on fun and partying. They wanted an intimate, moody, candlelit vibe with heavy attention to even the smallest of aspects. The candles, the florals, the place settings – every detail went STRONG thanks to the amazing team of vendors they curated. The florals were elegant yet understated, lining the two long reception tables with neutral-colored flowers to really let the lighting have its moment. To all wedding-planning couples: you can still have an intimate-feeling wedding, even if your guest count is on the higher side! It all has to do with the ambiance you create with your decor, lighting, and details. Take inspiration for A + J’s reception!

Now – a moment for A’s STUNNING Danielle Frankel reception dress! You know I love a good dress change, and A’s certainly was no exception. She kept it fun, flirty, and stylish with a short satin and lace high-neck moment. A & J’s wedding was not just a celebration of their love, but also a testament to their impeccable taste and the support system they’ve built throughout their relationship.
