Angela and Grant… and Pongo

Angela and Grant, having originally crossed paths at a Northwestern University sorority formal over 6 years ago, are an insanely fun pair. They’re both low-key, but TONS of fun and clearly obsessed with each other. They both reside in NYC with their Maltese, Pongo. This is actually the second wedding I’ve photographed this year where the couple had an absolutely adorable Maltese. Check out Marina & Zach’s Chicago wedding to see more Maltese photos.

All in all, working with them was a dream. It all started with their engagement session in the Central Park Row Boats leading up to their Annapolis, MD estate celebration.

A Garden-Style Backyard Celebration

Angela and Grant’s wedding inspiration started out as “Coastal Garden Party”, and over time, continued to elevate to a blend of chic and high-fashion sophistication; while still maintaining that intimate, backyard atmosphere. Their wedding consisted earthy and organic hues of blues, greens and whites mixed with the yellow glow of the reception candlelight.

The morning started in the hallways of stunning Brittland Estate. The rooms are decorated with stunning wallpaper and gorgeous light. Venues with impeccable personality are always my favorite to shoot in. Another one of my favorite wedding venues, that was also decorated with a garden-style theme is Leigh and Derek’s wedding at Strong Mansion. Brittland not only has a stunning interior, but the exterior is impeccable. The venue overlooks a massive field that eventually meets the waterfront where Angela and Grant said their vows. From there, you make your way through a field to be met with a poolside cocktail hour only a few steps away from a huge patio where Angela and Grant had their reception tent installed by Eastern Shore Tents.

Having had 3 stunning wedding looks, Angela totally accomplished bringing out that chic-fashion element that was so important to her. Every look got increasingly better than the last and made it even easier for her and Grant to dance the night away.
