When Claudia approached me with the idea of modern engagement photos at the Glenstone Museum, I was excited. This beautiful, contemporary venue is very exclusive, and there aren’t many opportunities to shoot there. With a mix of organic materials and sleek details, it has a really unique visual effect. The masterful minimalism of this museum is so striking and proved to be the perfect backdrop for a joyful engagement shoot.
Perfecting the Details for Modern Engagement Photos
One of the things I always love to offer my couples is full styling assistance. When it comes to engagement shoots, it pays to be thoughtful with what you wear. Not only do clothes affect the aesthetic of any shoot, but you want to feel fully comfortable and confident. There was a full five months between when Claudia finalized her booking with me and the actual session, and we were discussing potential outfits that entire time.
Eventually, we decided on this cream color scheme. She wanted modern engagement photos that still felt classic, so the timeless silhouettes of the dress and suit matched with the monochrome palette were the perfect mix of both. When we came up with the idea of Claudia changing into an oversize suit to match Connor’s for the at-home part of the shoot, it gave just the right amount of edge to these otherwise adorable modern engagement photos. Claudia and I have similar bubbly personalities, so we clicked really well. It made exploring the iconic Glenwell Museum even more fun. I am so excited for Claudia and Connor to start this next chapter together!
